Set up your loyalty program

The Loyalty Program screen on the Quickvee POS has been redesigned to match the new web backend. Cashiers and shift leads use it to view the active loyalty rates, see which bonus point promotions are running, and create or edit bonus programs on the fly β€” without switching to the merchant web dashboard. The earn rate, redemption rate, minimum redemption balance, and any active bonus programs all stay in sync with the web: change a setting in one place and the other reflects it within seconds.

What the screen shows

At the top sits an Activate Promotion toggle and read-only summary cards showing the current rates (labels appear in orange to distinguish settings from values). Below them, the Promotion for Bonus Points section lists every bonus program configured for the store.

Control

What it does

Activate Promotion (toggle, top-right)

Master switch for the loyalty promotion engine on this POS. When ON, the configured rates and bonus programs apply at checkout. When OFF, loyalty earning and redemption are suspended on the register.

Current rates

The cards below the toggle show the rates currently in effect at the register:

Card

What it shows

Current Points Awarded Per Dollar Spent

The combined rate customers are earning right now β€” base rate plus any active bonus programs. If your base is 1.00 pt/$ and a 2.00 pt/$ bonus is active, this shows 3.0. This is the actual rate customers earn at this moment.

Points Earned Per Dollar ($1 = …)

The base earn rate set in the web backend. 1.00 means 1 point per dollar. Customers earn this on every transaction regardless of bonus programs.

Point Redemption Rate (1 Point = …)

The dollar value of each point when redeemed. $1.00 means each point is worth $1 off at checkout.

Minimum Points to Redeem

The minimum balance a customer must hold before redeeming. Below this number, the Redeem button is greyed out at checkout and on the Rear Display.

"What's the customer earning right now?" β€” that's the Current Points Awarded Per Dollar Spent card. It already includes the active bonus on top of the base rate. The Points Earned Per Dollar card below is the base rate by itself β€” useful to know what changes when the promotion ends.

Promotion for Bonus Points

Below the rate cards, the Promotion for Bonus Points section lists every bonus program configured for your store. Each program is a card showing:

  • The program name, with an ACTIVE / INACTIVE badge.

  • A purple summary chip showing the additional rate β€” $1 Spent = 2.00 Points.

  • The date range the program runs.

  • The selected days of the week.

  • A toggle to enable or disable the program without deleting it.

  • An edit pencil to open the program editor.

An active program is highlighted with a green border; inactive ones are dimmed. The header row has an Add Bonus Point Promotions + link to create a new program directly from the POS.

Adding or editing a bonus program

Tap Add Bonus Point Promotions + to create one, or the edit pencil on an existing program to modify it. The editor opens titled Create or Edit Bonus Point Promotions:

Field

What it does

Program Name

Display name for the promotion. Placeholder: "Enter a descriptive name (e.g. Winter Promo)."

Additional Bonus Points Per Dollar

Extra points awarded per dollar during the promo β€” added to your base earn rate. Helper line: "Extra Points awarded per dollar spent (added to base points)."

Date Range β€” Start / End Date

The calendar window during which the bonus is active. Tap each field to open the picker.

Active Days

Pick which days the bonus applies (Sun–Sat). Tap each day pill to toggle; selected days fill in blue.

Limit to Specific Hours (checkbox)

When ticked, the bonus only applies during a specific time window within each active day. Unticked, it applies for the full active day.

Repeat Weekly (checkbox)

When ticked, the program continues weekly on the selected days even after the End Date. Helper line: "Continue this program weekly on selected days after the end date."

At the bottom of the editor: Save Changes (blue) saves the program; Delete (red) permanently removes it (only when editing an existing program); Cancel closes without saving.

Toggling a program ON makes its bonus rate immediately add to the base earn rate during the active range and days β€” and the Current Points Awarded Per Dollar Spent card at the top updates to the new combined rate. Toggling OFF pauses it without deleting.

Tip: Reuse seasonal programs year after year β€” disable last year's Winter Deal, tap the edit pencil, update the dates for next December, re-enable. No need to recreate from scratch each season.

Bonus rates stack additively. If two bonus programs are active at once, both add to the base rate. A base of 1 pt/$ with two active 1 pt/$ bonuses gives 3 pt/$ total β€” exactly what Current Points Awarded Per Dollar Spent will show.

Saving the page

The bottom-right of the screen has a green Save button to commit changes made on this page β€” toggling Activate Promotion, enabling/disabling a bonus program, or editing the rate cards. Edits made inside the program editor have their own Save Changes button and don't require this outer Save.

How this stays in sync with the web

Every setting here mirrors the merchant web backend β†’ Loyalty Program. POS changes sync to the web automatically, and web changes appear on the POS within seconds β€” no POS restart required. A shift lead can spin up an evening promo from the register during a slow stretch, and the web reflects it for online orders and reporting immediately; the owner can update the base earn rate from home, and the next morning's first transaction uses the new rate.

Customer-side experience

Settings here drive what customers see at checkout and on the Rear Display:

  • Rear Display Redeem Now button β€” uses Minimum Points to Redeem to decide when to show or grey out the button. Customers below the minimum see: "Minimum redemption value must be {X} or more."

  • Receipts β€” the Points Earned line reflects the combined rate (base + any active bonus) for that exact transaction.

  • Cart totals at the register β€” applied discounts use the Point Redemption Rate to convert points to dollars off.

Things to know

The Current Points Awarded Per Dollar Spent card is the live combined rate. It changes as bonus programs activate or deactivate. If a customer transacts right as a bonus is starting or ending, the rate they earn is whatever the card shows at that moment.

A bonus program with no Active Days picked will not apply. Even if it shows as ACTIVE, the system needs at least one day selected to fire. Pick at least one day before saving.

Disabling a bonus program doesn't affect existing balances. Customers keep every point earned; the program just stops adding new bonus points to future transactions until re-enabled.

The web backend is the source of truth for base rates. Cashiers can edit bonus programs from the POS, but Points Earned Per Dollar, Point Redemption Rate, and Minimum Points to Redeem are typically managed by the owner from the web backend.

POS edits sync back to the web within seconds. Build a program at the register, walk to the office, refresh the web Loyalty Program page β€” your new program will be there.
